Texas Statewide Call-In Day on Wednesday, November 2nd
Tell Congressman Jeb Hensarling “MY MEDICAID MATTERS!”
Medicaid funding is under attack. Texans with disabilities, seniors, children, family members, direct care workers and allies are asked to tell Congressman Jeb Hensarling “MY MEDICAID MATTERS” on Wednesday, November 2nd!
U.S. Representative Jeb Hensarling from Dallas, Texas, is co-chair of the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction (the “Super Committee”). The “Super Committee” is charged with reducing the budget deficit by making over $1.2 trillion in cuts over the next 10 years!
Rep. Hensarling’s office has admitted that healthcare is not a familiar topic, yet Hensarling will be making decisions about severe budget cuts to Medicaid in the coming weeks. Rep. Hensarling’s office is keeping a log of all callers. It is critical that you call Rep. Hensarling on November 2nd with your personal story!
Did you know? Medicaid is one of the largest federal programs so it is on the chopping block! Medicaid Matters! Medicaid supports health, independence, families, and jobs for over 58 million Americans.

Cover Texas Now's advocacy day on March 30th, 2011 was a major success! The goal of our advocacy day was to focus lawmakers on insurance issues. Over one hundred people came to the capitol to protest on the Capitol steps, hear from legislators and policy experts, and meet with legislators in their offices.
